1. An apparatus of a battery device, comprising:
a first switchable device connected to a first circuit pathway and configured to control flow of current through the first circuit pathway coupling a positive side of a first battery to a positive side of a second battery;
a second switchable device connected to a second circuit pathway and configured to control flow of current through the second circuit pathway coupling a positive side of the first battery to a negative side of the second battery; and
a third switchable device connected to a third circuit pathway and configured to control flow of current through the third circuit pathway coupling the negative side of the first battery to the negative side of the second battery;
processing circuitry configured to:
in response to a first signal, open the first switchable device, open the third switchable device, and close the second switchable device; and
in response to a second signal, open the second switchable device, and close the third switchable device.
