1. A method comprising:
applying guided filtering, with a camera raw image as a guidance image, to a first image of a first dynamic range to generate an intermediate image of the first dynamic range, the first image of the first dynamic range having been generated from the camera raw image with an image signal processor of an image acquisition device;
performing a dynamic range mapping on the intermediate image of the first dynamic range to generate a second image of a second dynamic range different from the first dynamic range;
using the second image of the second dynamic range to generate specific local reshaping function index values for selecting specific local reshaping functions for the second image of the second dynamic range;
applying the specific local reshaping functions to the second image of the second dynamic range to generate a locally reshaped image of the second dynamic range.
