1. A medicament injection system for injecting a medicament into a patient, the medicament injection system comprising:
an injection device comprising:
a medicament reservoir configured to store the medicament to be expelled by the injection device; and
an acoustic source external to the patient, the acoustic source configured to generate an acoustic signal comprising information indicative of an event that causes a change in an amount of the medicament stored in the medicament reservoir; and
an external device comprising:
an acoustic receiver configured to record the acoustic signal; and
one or more processors configured to:
generate an activation signal to start communication with the injection device in response to receiving a wake signal from a user of the external device,
process the recorded acoustic signal generated by the acoustic source, wherein processing the recorded acoustic signal comprises removing background noise from the recorded acoustic signal using a trained machine learning model;
generate current injection device data based on the processed recorded acoustic signal, and
perform a plausibility check of the current injection device data generated based on the processed recorded acoustic signal based on previously stored injection device data,
wherein the external device is configured to display an indication based on the current injection device data.
