1. A patient support apparatus comprising:
a support structure having a patient support deck; and
a side rail coupled to the support structure and movable relative to the support structure, the side rail including:
a side rail frame defining a frame wall formed at least partially of metal,
a gas spring operatively attached to the side rail frame,
a cover defining a cover wall formed at least partially of thermoplastic and shaped to at least partially cover the side rail frame and the gas spring, the cover including a plurality of thermoplastic mounts extending from the cover wall and bonded to the side rail frame to connect the frame wall to the cover wall.
