1. A garment comprising: a body including a first garment portion and a second garment portion; a releasable fastener configured to releasably couple the first garment portion to the second garment portion; a covering flap movable between a covering position wherein the covering flap covers the releasable fastener and a retracted position wherein the covering flap does not cover the releasable fastener; a tubular member received in one of the covering flap or the body of the garment, wherein the tubular member has an outer material and an inner foam cushioning layer; and a magnetic fastener system configured to selectively retain the covering flap in the covering position, wherein the magnetic fastener system includes: a first component positioned in the tubular member, the first component-having: a first support strip folded about itself to define a pair of plies, the support strip being made a water tight, fire resistant textile or fabric; and a plurality of first magnetic coupling components coupled to the first support strip and spaced along a length thereof, wherein each first magnetic coupling component is positioned between the pair of plies and coupled to the first support strip by stitching.
