1. A method, comprising:
storing an alert database defining a plurality of alert events for an aircraft, the plurality of alert events indicating deviations from a desired operation of the aircraft;
detecting an alert event of one of the plurality of alert events by monitoring an output of a sensor in the aircraft;
searching the alert database to identify a crew response for the alert event;
identifying a current flight phase of the aircraft;
contextualizing, based on the current flight phase, the alert event to assign an alert level to the alert event, wherein the alert database stores a suggested alert level for the alert event, wherein the alert level assigned to the alert event is lower than the suggested alert level, wherein contextualizing the alert event comprises:
lowering the assigned alert level to below the suggested alert level in response to determining the alert event has an operational impact on a future flight phase but does not have an operational impact on the current flight phase of the aircraft; and
outputting, for display, the alert event.
