1. A method for preserving evidence obtained from a mobile bug during a one-way communications session, the method comprising:
receiving, at a mobile bug, a request to establish a one-way communications session;
responsive to receiving the request, the mobile bug capturing first audio data in an environment of the mobile bug and transmitting first data comprising the first audio data to a database for storage while the mobile bug operates in a first mode in which the mobile bug refrains from storing the first data subsequent to the transmission of the first data;
detecting a deterioration in the one-way communications session that prevents transmission of data by the mobile bug during the one-way communications session;
capturing, by the mobile bug, second audio data in the environment of the mobile bug after the detection of the deterioration;
responsive to detecting the deterioration, while the deterioration is detected, causing the mobile bug to transition from operating in the first mode to operating in a second mode in which the mobile bug stores second data comprising the second audio data at the mobile bug in an encrypted format;
detecting a request for the second data stored at the mobile bug; and
responsive to detecting the request for the second data stored at the mobile bug:
transmitting the second data to the database, and
deleting, by the mobile bug, the second data from the mobile bug.
