1. An electronic device, comprising:
a camera comprising an image sensor including a plurality of pixels, wherein each pixel included in the plurality of pixels includes a plurality of photodiodes and a microlens covering the plurality of photodiodes;
one or more processors; and
memory
storing one or more programs including instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to:
obtain a first phase image, a second phase image, and image data for an external object using the plurality of photodiodes of the image sensor,
obtain a disparity map calculated using the first phase image and the second phase image, the disparity map identifying differences between the first phase image and the second phase image,
determine a liveness of the external object based on the disparity map and the image data, the liveness indicating whether the external object is alive, and
authenticate the external object using based on the determined liveness, the phase images first phase image, the second phase image, and the image data.
