1. A deployment unit for a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) comprising:
a housing having a first end opposite a second end, wherein the second end defines an opening;
an electrode configured to be deployed from the first end of the housing;
a propulsion system positioned in the housing and configured to deploy the electrode;
a conductor positioned in the housing proximate the propulsion system; and
a barrier at least partially positioned in the opening of the housing between the conductor and the second end of the housing, wherein the barrier is compressed against an inner surface of the opening to at least partially protect the conductor from moisture, dirt, or debris.
