1. An aerosol-generating system, comprising:
a cartridge containing a volatile substrate and having a susceptor; and
an aerosol-generating device configured to receive the cartridge, the aerosol-generating device comprising:
a housing having a chamber sized to receive at least a portion of the cartridge,
an inductor coil disposed around at least a portion of the chamber,
a power supply,
an ambient temperature sensor, and
control circuitry configured to control a supply of power from the power supply to the inductor coil based on one or more ambient temperature readings from the ambient temperature sensor, the control circuitry being configured to control the supply of power by:
adjusting a target value based on the one or more ambient temperature readings from the ambient temperature sensor, and
controlling the supply of power to the inductor coil based on the adjusted target value.
