1. A method for tuning analog equalization settings for link training at an analog-to-digital converter-based serial receiver, the method comprising:
receiving, at the receiver, a first analog signal from a transmitter;
applying initial analog equalization settings to the first analog signal to generate a first equalized analog signal;
converting, at the receiver, the first equalized analog signal to a first digital signal using an analog-to-digital converter;
measuring a first frequency content of the digital signal;
measuring a first saturation at the analog-to-digital converter; and
determining updated analog equalization settings from the first frequency content of the digital signal and the first saturation.
