1. A method for modulating common mode leakage current in electric power circuits interfacing two energy storage devices, two energy sources, or; one energy storage device and one energy source; to a voltage source, the method comprising:
controlling a plurality of switches of an electrically symmetrical electric power circuit, such that one or more electrically symmetrical pairs of switches of the plurality of switches are operated at a same operational state when the power circuit is coupled to an electrical grid to reduce the common mode leakage current;
wherein each switch of the one or more electrically symmetrical pairs of switches has a switched node that is connected by a symmetrical branch and are electrically symmetrical across a symmetry axis; and
wherein the symmetry axis is defined around any electrical point that has equal or approximately equal impedance to the switched nodes of the electrically symmetrical pair of switches; and
wherein the electrically symmetrical electric power circuit is free of power isolation.
