1. An electrode assembly comprising:
a first electrode plate having a first electrode tab attached thereto;
a second electrode plate having at least one second electrode tab attached thereto; and
a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate,
the electrode assembly wound in a state in which the first electrode plate, the separator, and the second electrode plate are stacked,
wherein the first electrode plate comprises a coating portion formed by coating a first active material on a surface thereof at a region corresponding to a leading edge of the first electrode plate, based on a winding direction,
wherein the second electrode plate comprises coating portions formed by coating a second active material on first and second surfaces thereof, a non-coating portion that is not coated with the second active material, and a cover tape on a leading edge of the second active material, based on the winding direction, where the second active material of the second electrode plate begins, and
wherein, in a cross-section along a plane that is perpendicular to a winding axis, the coating portion of the first electrode plate overlaps an entirety of the cover tape, the entirety of the cover tape being between a second electrode tab of the at least one second electrode tab and each of the first electrode tab and a trailing edge of the second electrode plate along the winding direction,
wherein the cover tape is in contact with the second active material and does not contact the non-coating portion of the second electrode plate.
