1. An electronic device connected to a server which stores, for each user, management information related to allowability of use of data of a subscription type permitted to be used within a predetermined period without being connected to a device for keeping and managing time and date, the electronic device comprising:
a storage which stores the data;
and a processor configured to:
establish a communication with the server to confirm, with the server, management information comprising a subscription authority of a desired level owned by a user of the electronic device, wherein the subscription authority indicates a contract type for the user to use the data and is set to a plurality of levels of authority for acquiring at least a portion of the data;
permit using, in the electronic device, data deemed usable at the desired level indicated by the subscription authority in the confirmed management information, among data of the subscription type stored in the storage;
prohibit using, in the electronic device, data deemed unusable in the confirmed management information, among data of the subscription type stored in the storage, comprising prohibiting storing edited timbre data in the storage;
accumulate a number of times that power of the electronic device has been turned on since the communication with the server became unestablishable;
and permit using, in the electronic device, the data of the subscription type stored in the storage based on the confirmed management information before communication with the server became unestablishable for a time period from when communication with the server becomes unestablishable to when the accumulated number of times reaches a predetermined number of times, comprising allowing storing edited timber data in the storage.
