1. A method, comprising:
defining an airgap control policy that specifies a threshold data value;
generating a value for a set of data;
determining whether the value that has been generated for the data meets or exceeds the threshold data value; and
closing an air gap when the value that has been generated for the data meets or exceeds the threshold data value,
wherein the air gap is closed longer than a time specified by a static time-policy air gap when the value is greater than a maximum threshold data value.
