1. A method for use in testing an operational status of a light source for illuminating a scene, the light source having a fixed spatial relationship relative to a camera, and the method comprising:
using the camera to capture a first image when the light source is disabled;
using the camera to capture a second image when the light source is enabled;
determining whether the first and second images are images of the same scene; and
determining a test result indicating the operational status of the light source based on one or more of:
a light source setting when the camera captures each of the first and second images, the light source setting indicating whether the light source is disabled or enabled when the camera captures the first and second images; and
one or more camera settings when the camera captures the first and second images; and
one or more image properties of the first and second images.
