1. A method for displaying a route in a first electronic device, the method comprising:
receiving a first message from a second electronic device;
identifying first position information of the second electronic device included in the first message;
receiving a user input for selecting the first message from a plurality of received messages, wherein each of the plurality of received messages includes respective position information;
calculating second position information of the first electronic device;
receiving route information between a start position and a destination position from a navigation server, wherein the start position corresponds to the second position information and the destination position corresponds to the first position information; and
based at least on receiving the route information from the navigation server, displaying, on a display of the first electronic device, a route representing the received route information between the start position and the destination position.
