1. A method for manufacturing a glass plate in which shape processing is performed on an edge surface of a glass plate having a disk shape,
the glass plate before the shape processing having
a main surface and
an edge surface having at least a surface that is perpendicular to the main surface
in a central portion of the glass plate in a thickness direction of the glass plate,
the method comprising
processing the edge surface into a target shape in which a chamfered surface is formed on the edge surface, by irradiating the edge surface with a laser beam to form the chamfered surface on the edge surface while moving the laser beam relative to the edge surface in a circumferential direction of the glass plate, and
the processing of the edge surface being performed by adjusting a value of Pd×Th and a value of a moving speed at which the laser beam moves relative to the edge surface along the edge surface,
such that W1>Th holds true,
where a width of luminous flux of the laser beam in the thickness direction of the glass plate at an irradiation position of the edge surface is W1 (mm), and a thickness of the glass plate is Th (mm) that is 0.7 mm or less,
such that y is in a range of 11.2×x−4.7 or lower and 3.8×x−5.6 or more,
where a power density of the laser beam is Pd (W/mm2), Pd×Th is x, and the moving speed is y (mm/s), and
such that the moving speed is 20 (mm/s) or more, and the Pd×Th is 14.3 (W/mm) or more.
