1. A method of catalytic degradation of phenylbutazone in water, comprising:
contacting a catalyst and an oxidant with an aqueous solution comprising phenylbutazone,
wherein the catalyst comprises zerovalent cerium supported on biochar beads,
wherein the oxidant is a persulfate,
degrading the phenylbutazone during the contacting to form a degradation mixture comprising one or more degradation products,
wherein an amount of phenylbutazone in the degradation mixture is 15 to 20 wt. % of an amount of phenylbutazone in the aqueous solution.
