1. An anti-theft device for a vehicle having a passive keyless entry and start (PKES) system, the device comprising:
a wireless transceiver for communication with a user authentication device;
at least one detector for detecting a challenge message from the PKES system to authenticate an OEM key fob; and
at least one transmitter responsive to detecting said challenge message and for transmitting a null message to the PKES system in at least one time slot based on a timing established by said challenge message,
wherein said null message is not transmitted when the user authorization device is in communication with the wireless transceiver and authentication is successful.
