1. An airbag device comprising:
a bag-shaped airbag cushion in a prescribed rolled or folded stowed form; and
a cover member formed of a ductile cloth material containing a plurality of polymer fibers and that is for covering an outer periphery of the airbag cushion in stowed form;
wherein the cover member has a hard portion in a state in which at least a portion of the plurality of polymer fibers are melted together, and a soft portion in which a ratio of the plurality of melted polymer fibers is lower than at least the hard portion and that bends more easily than the hard portion,
wherein the cover member is bent along the soft portion and covers at least a portion of the outer periphery of the airbag cushion in stowed form; and
wherein the airbag device is equipped in a vehicle seat as a side airbag of a vehicle, and the hard portion is arranged so as to face a portion corresponding to an occupant side of the vehicle seat.
