1. An ultrasound imaging apparatus, comprising:
a processor circuit configured to:
receive, from an ultrasound probe communicatively coupled to the processor circuit, three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound data of an anatomy;
generate, from the 3D ultrasound data, a first two-dimensional (2D) image corresponding to a first image plane of the anatomy;
determine a path intersecting the first 2D image;
generate, from the 3D ultrasound data, a second 2D image to have a first spatial relationship with the first 2D image that is defined by the path, wherein the second 2D image corresponds to a second image plane of the anatomy that is adjacent to the first image plane along the path, wherein the path intersects the second 2D image;
output, to a display in communication with the processor circuit, the first 2D image;
receive a user input representative of a direction of motion along the path; and
output, to the display, the second 2D image in response to the user input,
wherein the first 2D image is generated using multiplanar reconstruction (MPR),
wherein the processor circuit is configured to:
determine a direction of uncertainty associated with whether or not the first 2D image is representative of a target image plane; and
determine the path based on the determined direction of uncertain.
