1. An apparatus comprising:
a sensor comprising:
a sensing element comprising:
a first piezoelectric element and a second piezoelectric element; and
at least one electrically conductive surface electrically coupled with the first or the second piezoelectric element; and
an amplifier comprising a receptacle electrically coupled with the at least one electrically conductive surface;
wherein the sensor is configured to conform to a shape of an eye and operate within a fold of an eyelid of a patient and to register micro-movements of an eyeball having an amplitude in an inclusive range of 40 micrometers to 500 nanometers; and
wherein sensor is configured for placement with the eyelid of the patient disposed between the sensor and the eyeball.
