1. An electric turbomachine for use with an internal combustion engine, a turbocharger or a fuel cell e-compressor, said electric turbomachine comprising:
a high-speed electrical machine located internally within a housing that is arranged to be rotationally driven by a shaft about a rotational axis (R);
a compressor that is arranged to compress fluid within a turbo compressor when it is rotationally driven about the rotational axis (R) by the shaft; and
a power electronics assembly that is arranged to supply power to the electrical machine;
a control assembly that is arranged to control the power supplied by the power electronics assembly to the electrical machine,
wherein at least a portion of the power electronics assembly is mounted externally on the housing on a first surface of the housing and the control assembly is mounted externally on the housing on a second surface of the housing;
wherein the first surface and the second surface are substantially orthogonal with respect to one another; and
wherein the first surface lies in a plane which is substantially parallel with the rotational axis (R) and the second surface lies in a plane which is substantially orthogonal to the rotational axis (R).
