1. A modular reamer shoe configured for connection to an end of a tubular structure for deployment in a wellbore, the modular reamer shoe comprising:
a body configured for connection to the tubular structure, the body including a first section and an adjacent second section, the first section being connected to the second section such that torque can be transmitted between the first section and the second section, the second section defining a starter reamer defined by a plurality of first cutting elements located in a first area of the second section, the second section further including a second area adjacent the first area and a third area adjacent the second area, wherein the third area includes a plurality of second cutting elements disposed circumferentially about the entire third area of the body;
a plurality of blades disposed within the second area of the second section; and
a nose configured for connection to the second section of the body, wherein the nose includes at least one cut out that extends longitudinally to a distal tip of the nose and partitions the nose into at least two reaming nose segments, the at least one cut out being defined by planar side walls, wherein each reaming nose segment includes a cutting element disposed along an outer surface thereof, wherein each cut out includes a nose port that is located between the planar side walls that define the respective cut out, the nose port axially facing the distal tip of the nose for directing fluid in an axial direction toward the distal tip;
wherein the combination of the body and the nose is dimensioned to fit within the wellbore during deployment of the combination in forward/rearward directions.
