1. A macerating element for macerating a blockage or clot, comprising:
a catheter;
a tubular shaft comprising a distal end and a proximal end;
an expandable basket disposed at the distal end of the tubular shaft, wherein the expandable basket comprises a plurality of struts that form a braiding pattern, wherein the expandable basket is configured to rotate to macerate the blockage or clot, and wherein the braiding pattern of the expandable basket comprises a picks per inch that ranges from 2 to 10;
an outer tubular shaft that extends the length of the catheter and is disposed around the tubular shaft and within the catheter, the outer tubular shaft formed from the plurality of struts of the expandable basket, wherein the outer tubular shaft comprises a transition point where a picks per inch of the outer tubular shaft transition from the picks per inch of the outer tubular shaft to the picks per inch of the expandable basket, and wherein the picks per inch of the outer tubular shaft ranges from 16 to 40;
a first port for aspiration and/or infusion;
a second port for aspiration and/or infusion; and a third port for aspiration and/or infusion, wherein the tubular shaft comprises a lumen that extends from the proximal end to the distal end and is in fluid communication with the first port,
wherein a second lumen is disposed between the tubular shaft and the outer tubular shaft and is in fluid communication with the second port,
wherein a third lumen is disposed between the outer tubular shaft and the catheter and is in fluid communication with the third port, and
wherein the plurality of struts comprise a flattened configuration with rounded edges.
