1. A method comprising:
determining, by a wireless communication device, to use a timing advance (TA) estimated by the wireless communication device for communication with a wireless communication node;
selecting, by the wireless communication device from a plurality of types of random access channel (RACH) procedures, a type of RACH procedure to communicate with the wireless communication node;
initiating, by the wireless communication device, a RACH procedure by transmitting a message to the wireless communication node according to the selected type of RACH and to the TA estimated by the wireless communication device;
starting, by the wireless communication device, a random access response (RAR) window after transmitting the message;
monitoring, by the wireless communication device, receipt from the wireless communication node a scheduling information for reception of a response message during the RAR window; and
receiving, by the wireless communication device from the wireless communication node, a response message according to the scheduling information,
wherein for the RACH procedure pre-compensated based on the TA estimated by the wireless communication device, the start of the RAR window is delayed by the wireless communication device based on an offset of a network configuration.
