1. A method comprising:
receiving, via a cloud bursting service associated with a plurality of cloud environments, a cloud bursting configuration associated with a local compute environment configured for a user;
obtaining settings related to jobs in a jobs queue, the settings being associated with circumstances to either automatically spin up or shut down compute resources in preparation to integrate nodes from one or more cloud environments into the local compute environment in a cloud bursting operation;
based on the settings, determining whether, in preparation for the cloud bursting operation, to shut down an existing node on the one or more cloud environments that are associated with the local compute environment to yield a determination;
when the determination indicates, based on the settings related to jobs in the jobs queue, that the existing node on the one or more cloud environments should be shut down, shutting down the existing node on the one or more cloud environments to generate a reduced set of nodes on the one or more cloud environments;
integrating, based on the cloud bursting configuration and as managed by the cloud bursting service and based on the settings, the reduced set of nodes from one or more cloud environments into one or more clusters of the local compute environment to generate an integrated compute environment; and
initiating the jobs in the jobs queue on the integrated compute environment.
