1. An apparatus, comprising:
node circuitry configured to communicate via a data bus according to a data rate;
data rate limiter circuitry configured to control the data rate; and
first toggle detector circuitry configured to:
determine a toggle rate between consecutive clock cycles for data on the data bus, wherein the toggle rate corresponds to a number of bits that changed on the data bus between consecutive clock cycles; and
provide toggle information to the data rate limiter circuitry based on the determined toggle rate;
wherein the data rate limiter circuitry is configured to limit the data rate for the node circuitry based on:
one or more limit inputs; and
the provided toggle information.
