1. An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recording material;
a first rotatable member;
a second rotatable member contacting an outer peripheral surface of the first rotatable member and configured to form a nip portion between the first rotatable member and the second rotatable member;
a heater disposed in an inside space of the second rotatable member;
a first temperature detecting unit, which is provided at a central position of the heater with respect to a longitudinal direction of the heater, configured to detect a temperature of the heater;
a second temperature detecting unit, which is provided at a position closer to an end side of the heater than the first temperature detecting unit with respect to the longitudinal direction of the heater, configured to detect a temperature of the heater; and
a control unit configured to control an electric power supplied to the heater based on the temperature detected by the first temperature detecting unit,
wherein in a case of continuously performing image formation on a plurality of recording materials, the control unit is configured to increase and decrease a feeding interval in which a trailing edge of a preceding recording material, which is included in the plurality of recording materials, passes through the nip portion until a leading edge of a subsequent recording material, which is included in the plurality of recording materials, reaches the nip portion, the feeding interval being increased and decreased based on a comparison with the temperature detected by the second temperature detecting unit and a temperature threshold value, and
wherein, as the temperature threshold value, different values are set based on a basis weight of the plurality of recording materials.
