1. An energy efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, comprising:
a variable capacity compressor configured to operate at a plurality of operating capacities;
a control system communicatively coupled to the variable capacity compressor, wherein the control system is configured to:
receive data indicative of a temperature within a conditioned space;
receive data indicative of a set point temperature of the conditioned space;
initialize operation of the variable capacity compressor; and
ramp up operation of the variable capacity compressor to an intermediate operating capacity of the plurality of operating capacities during initial operation of the variable capacity compressor, wherein the intermediate operating capacity is less than a full operating capacity of the plurality of operating capacities, and the intermediate operating capacity is determined independently of the temperature within the conditioned space and the set point temperature of the conditioned space;
compare the temperature within the conditioned space with the set point temperature of the conditioned space; and
based on a determination that a deviation between the temperature and the set point temperature is within a threshold difference value, maintain operation of the variable capacity compressor at the intermediate operating capacity of the plurality of operating capacities for a predetermined period of time,
wherein, upon lapse of the predetermined period of time, the control system is configured to:
receive updated data indicative of an updated temperature within the conditioned space;
compare the updated temperature with the set point temperature; and
based on a determination that an updated deviation between the updated temperature and the set point temperature remains within the threshold difference value, operate the variable capacity compressor at a lower threshold operating capacity of the plurality of operating capacities.
