1. A ceramic matrix composite component comprising:
a plurality of fibers; and
a ceramic matrix, wherein the plurality of fibers is disposed in the ceramic matrix and wherein the ceramic matrix is divided into a plurality of regions defining different regions of the component, each region comprising a subset of the plurality of fibers, the plurality of regions comprising:
a first region wherein the ceramic matrix comprises silicon carbide doped with a first rare earth element; and
a second region wherein the ceramic matrix comprises silicon carbide doped with a second rare earth element different from the first rare earth element.
