1. A method to protect ear hair cells from death caused by an antibiotic comprising:
administering to a mammal in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition containing a therapeutically active agent, wherein the therapeutically active agent is fedratinib or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
