1. A method of improving heat stress tolerance in plants comprising applying an effective amount of 1-amino-1-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (ACC) to the plant, wherein the plant is Brassica napus and wherein the effective amount is from about 30 to about 300 parts per million.
