1. A user equipment (UE) comprising:
a processor configured to determine:
a first physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble for transmission in a first PRACH occasion (RO) using a first spatial setting, and
a second PRACH preamble for transmission in a second RO using a second spatial setting; and
a transceiver operably connected to the processor, the transceiver configured to:
transmit:
the first PRACH preamble in the first RO using the first spatial setting, and
the second PRACH preamble in the second RO using the second spatial setting; and
receive:
a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) scheduling a reception of a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), wherein the PDSCH provides a random access response (RAR) message associated with the first and second PRACH preamble transmissions, wherein:
the RAR message schedules transmission of a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), and
the RAR message includes information for using a spatial setting from the first spatial setting or the second spatial setting for transmission of the PUSCH, and
the transceiver is further configured to transmit a first PUSCH and any PUSCH after the first PUSCH using the spatial setting until reception of information indicating use of a different spatial setting.
