1. A system for generating energy in response to a movement of a vehicle, the system comprising:
a roller coupled to a drive shaft of the vehicle and configured to rotate in response to rotation of the drive shaft, wherein the roller is secured to a feature of the vehicle;
an generator mechanically coupled to the roller and configured to convert rotational energy of the roller to an electrical output;
a motor electrically coupled with the generator and configured to receive a portion of the electrical output; and
a controller in communication with the roller, the generator and the motor, wherein the controller is configured to control a transfer of energy between the roller, generator, and motor.
