1. A cascade switch, comprising:
a plurality of switch circuits coupled in parallel with each other, at least one switch circuit among the plurality of switch circuits defining a larger-load switch configured to accommodate a higher power level than at least one of the other switch circuits, wherein each respective switch circuit further comprises a metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MosFet) and a bridge rectifier;
an electromechanical switch coupled in parallel with the plurality of switch circuits; and
a microprocessor operatively coupled to the plurality of switch circuits and the electromechanical switch to selectively direct an electrical load that passes through the cascade switch to at least one of the electromechanical switch and one or more switch circuits among the plurality of switch circuits, the microprocessor configured to direct the electrical load to the electromechanical switch in response to a period of time of substantially constant electrical load to reduce power losses through the cascade switch, wherein the period of time surpasses a predetermined period of time.
