1. A method, comprising:
identifying at least a first and second device of a plurality of devices to store backup data for multiple databases, wherein the first device has a greater amount of free space than the second device; and
balancing individual performance of a database with overall performance of the multiple databases based at least in part upon a space requirement and a database size threshold to transmit the backup data of the database to a particular device, wherein balancing the individual performance with the overall performance comprises:
transmitting, via a network interface for the database in response to the space requirement being larger than the database size threshold, the backup data to the first device, wherein the first device is selected based at least in part upon the first device having the greater amount of free space than the second device; and
transmitting, via the network interface for the database in response to the space requirement being smaller than the database size threshold, the backup data to the second device, wherein the second device is selected based at least in part upon the second device having a smaller amount of free space than the first device.
