1. A device comprising:
a first storage interface;
a first logic, connected to the first storage interface;
an adaptable circuit connected to the first logic;
at least one conductor forming a connection between the adaptable circuit and the first storage interface; and
wherein the first logic comprises a first channel having a common port connected to the first storage interface, a first selectable port connected to a first root port of the adaptable circuit, and a second selectable port; and
wherein the device is configured to operate in a single-port state or a dual-port state, wherein:
in the single-port state, the first selectable port of the first channel of the first logic is selected; and
in the dual-port state, the second selectable port of the first channel of the first logic is selected.
