1. A cured tobacco leaf of a modified tobacco plant, wherein said cured tobacco leaf comprises a decreased amount of one or more tobacco specific nitrosamines (TSNAs), a recombinant nucleic acid molecule comprising a promoter operably linked to a first polynucleotide encoding an arogenate dehydrogenase-like polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs: 51 and 52, and a recombinant nucleic acid molecule comprising a promoter operably linked to a second polynucleotide encoding a MYB3-like transcription factor polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs: 13 and 23, wherein said decreased amount is compared to an unmodified control tobacco plant.
