1. A system for cracking a used lubricating oil (ULO), the system comprising:
a furnace having a conduit passing through the furnace, the conduit configured to maintain a velocity of a flow of the ULO within the conduit, the ULO including metal-bearing molecules, the velocity associated with a turbulent flow regime effective to resist carbonization of the ULO while heating to a first temperature effective to crack the metal-bearing molecules in the ULO to form metal constituents cracked from the metal-bearing molecules;
a separator operably connected to in fluid flow communication and downstream of the furnace, the separator configured to remove, from the flow, metallic constituents cracked from the metal-bearing molecules;
a scavenger in fluid flow communication with the separator and configured to remove sulfur from the flow; and
a fractional distillation column in fluid flow communication with and downstream of the separator, the fractional distillation column configured to receive from the separator the flow and distill the flow into a plurality of streams, each stream of the plurality of streams is associated with a corresponding boiling temperature range.
