1. A flexible elongate body and a spinal fixation device connector system comprising:
a flexible elongate body comprising a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, wherein the flexible elongate body comprises a body portion between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion, wherein the distal end portion of the flexible elongate body comprises an enlarged head and a fastener lumen configured to accept the proximal end portion, wherein the proximal end portion, the distal end portion, and the body portion are monolithically formed; and
a spinal fixation device connector comprising:
a body comprising a first portion and a second portion, the first portion of the body including an opening configured to accept a spinal rod, and the second portion having a first side with a top surface and a second side, a recess formed in the first side of the body configured to receive the enlarged head of the distal end portion of the flexible elongate body, wherein the recess comprises a bottom surface and a side surface, wherein the enlarged head of the distal end portion of the flexible elongate body is lowered from the top surface of the first side to be against the bottom surface of the recess when the enlarged head of the distal end portion is placed within the recess, wherein the side surface is discontinuous to allow the body portion of the flexible elongate body to extend from the recess when the enlarged head of the distal end portion is placed within the recess, wherein the enlarged head of the distal end portion is placed within the recess in only one orientation; and
a lumen formed in the second side of the body, the lumen intersecting the recess, wherein the lumen aligns with the fastener lumen when the enlarged head of the distal end portion is placed in the recess and the lumen is configured to guide the proximal end portion through the fastener lumen when the distal end portion of the flexible elongate body is received in the recess.
