1. A method comprising:
providing one or more absorbing pillars;
embedding the one or more absorbing pillars in a non-absorbing layer;
shaping the non-absorbing layer with embedded one or more absorbing pillars as one or more pyramids, the one or more absorbing pillars being embedded in the one or more pyramids;
providing an absorber layer disposed adjacent to the non-absorbing layer, wherein the non-absorbing layer is configured to reduce reflection of an incident light and wherein the absorber layer absorbs photons of the incident light and generates minority electrical carriers and majority electrical carriers; and
providing a collector layer for extracting the minority electrical carriers.
