1. A method for enhancing a red reflex of an eye during an eye surgery, the method comprising:
producing warm white light via a lighting source, including blocking blue wavelengths and green wavelengths of light from the lighting source using an excitation filter;
illuminating a pupil and an iris of the eye with the warm white light during the eye surgery;
collecting digital image data of the eye during the eye surgery using a digital camera as the eye is illuminated by the warm white light; and
during a predetermined stage of the eye surgery:
isolating a pupil pixel region of the pupil from an iris pixel region of the iris within the digital image data via a processor;
selectively adjusting a characteristic of constituent pixels comprising the pupil pixel region or the iris pixel region, via the processor, to thereby provide an enhanced red reflex; and
presenting an adjusted digital image of the eye having the enhanced red reflex.
