1. A method of determining a cable fault, comprising:
transmitting a number of pulse signals from a node via a single twisted pair cable of a shared bus of an Ethernet network;
observing a number of signals received at the node in response to one or more pulse signals,
sampling, based on one or more thresholds, the number of observed signals, to obtain a set of samples for the number of observed signals, wherein respective values of the one or more thresholds represent contributions of reflection pulses and transmit pulses to a combined signal;
obtaining, for respective samplings, an array of respective reflection signals, a value of the array based on the set of samples obtained for the number of observed signals; and
determining a fault condition of the cable at least partially based on the array of respective reflection signals.
