1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium with instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
discovering a signal that is locally broadcast by a container that has medication stored therein;
determining that the signal indicates data is available for download from the container;
initiating a wireless communication channel over which the data can be acquired from the container; and
receiving, via the wireless communication channel, a plurality of messages from the container that collectively contain the data in corresponding payloads,
wherein the plurality of messages are transmitted to the computing device by the container in order of increasing payload size and decreasing payload priority.
