1. A cochlear implant and analysis system comprising:
an external device comprising a first wireless communication interface and a user interface; and
a fully implantable cochlear implant system comprising:
a stimulator configured to provide electrical stimulation;
an input source configured to receive an input representative of ambient sound and generate an input signal representative of the received input;
a signal processor in communication with the stimulator and the input source, the signal processor being programmed with a transfer function so that the signal processor outputs a stimulation signal to the stimulator based on the input signal received from the input source and the transfer function; and
a second wireless communication interface; and wherein
the external device is configured to:
receive, via the user interface, a user input selecting a first signal, the first signal comprising the input signal or a result of one or more processing steps performed by the signal processor; and
output, via the first wireless communication interface, an analysis input designating the first signal for analysis based on the received user input; and
the fully implantable cochlear implant system is configured to:
receive, from the external device using the second wireless communication interface, the analysis input designating the first signal for analysis; and
in response to the received analysis input:
generate an analysis signal representative of the first signal; and
output a signal representative of the analysis signal to the external device via the second wireless communication interface.
