1. A drainage stent delivery system comprising:
a drainage stent including a tubular member having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen extending therethrough, the lumen having a lumen surface;
an elongate shaft, a distal portion of the elongate shaft including a plurality of tabs extendable into the lumen of the drainage stent, the plurality of tabs being configured to move between a first position in which the plurality of tabs are disengaged from the lumen surface of the drainage stent and a second position in which the plurality of tabs are engaged with the lumen surface of the drainage stent; and
an elongate member extending axially through the elongate shaft, the elongate member being axially movable from a first axial location to a second axial location, wherein in the second axial location the plurality of tabs are deflected into engagement with the lumen surface of the drainage stent and in the first axial location the plurality of tabs are disengaged from the lumen surface of the drainage stent to allow the drainage stent to be released from the elongate shaft.
