1. A method comprising:
pivoting a lid of a spinal implant device, the spinal implant device comprising a distal end, a proximal end, two opposing side walls extending between the distal end and the proximal end, an upper wall configured to be positioned adjacent to a vertebral end plate of an upper vertebra, a lower wall configured to be positioned adjacent to a vertebral end plate of a lower vertebra, and a central cavity, wherein pivoting the lid relative to the upper wall provides access to the central cavity, wherein the lid extends the entire length of the spinal implant device from the distal end to the proximal end, wherein the lid and the upper wall together form an upper surface of the spinal implant device;
packing the central cavity with a material; and
pivoting the lid to cover the central cavity after the central cavity is packed.
