1. An upper for an article of footwear comprising:
a textile strand disposed along a strand-trace path and defining one or more textile strand segments with one or more covered portions and one or more exposed portions; and
a first polymer layer printed along a first polymer-trace path that is different from the strand-trace path,
wherein the strand-trace path and the first polymer-trace path intersect at a plurality of overlapping positions along the upper,
wherein at one or more of the plurality of overlapping positions the first polymer layer is printed on, and bonded to, the one or more textile strand segments, and
wherein at the plurality of overlapping positions the first polymer-trace path intersects with the strand-trace path at an angle to define the covered portions of the one or more strand segments.
